The Marshall University Alumni Association’s 2020 Alumni Census and Directory Project has begun. Over the next few months, Publishing Concepts, Inc. will be contacting alumni, on behalf of the Association, via mail, phone, and email to request you update your information.


Please know we understand your concerns with safety and security regarding personal information, and the Association assures you the company’s request is legitimate. 


Up-to-date alumni information will be essential to publishing the upcoming alumni directory. While all alumni are included in the directory at no cost, PCI will be taking orders for print and digital versions of the publication.


PCI will be recording updates from alumni until April 3, 2020. The final directory book is due to ship by the end of November 2020.


This directory will be on sale to all members of the Marshall University alumni family.

Who is PCI and why is SIU working with them on a directory project?

The Association has partnered with PCI to produce its new alumni directory, a compendium of alumni information. PCI is a company located in Dallas, Texas and publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation.This project allows the MUAA to receive important updates to our database, so we know more about our alumni and how to better serve them in the future.

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?

The Association has a contractual agreement with PCI that states the following: “The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by MUAA for the publication of the directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the directory and except as required by court order or law.” The directory will be made available only to members of the MUAA. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to MUAA any and all electronic files that have been supplied by MUAA or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the directory.

How can I update and verify my information?

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Association’s Alumni Census and Directory Project. The representative will verify all the information we currently have on file for you and make updates where necessary. If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. Can anyone purchase a directory?

The directory is available to all alumni of Marshall University. You may also purchase a membership when purchasing a copy of the directory through PCI.

How much does it cost to purchase a directory?

Purchasing options are as follows:
• Hard-bound print directory is $119.98, plus $19.95 S&H and applicable sales tax.
• Digital directory is $119.98 plus applicable tax
• Digital publication by decade is $59.98 plus any applicable sales tax

PCI is required to collect and remit sales tax to states that charge it.

Can I choose not to have my information printed in the directory?

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You can exclude some or all of your information.

What does it cost MUAA to print this directory?

PCI is producing the directory free of charge. As PCI has agreed to prepare and send marketing, take calls and updates, compile and format the directory information, and publish the directories at no cost to the university, it is necessary for directory sales to cover said costs. This ensures that PCI’s time and efforts result in accurate data for SIU as well as a directory product for our constituents.
