A message from the Marshall University Office of Alumni Relations detailing our response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Please read this message in its entirety and contact us with any questions or concerns.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, seeking counsel from local and national officials and healthcare professionals to make the most informed decisions given the growing concern which surrounds us all. Our chief concern is the health and well-being of the Marshall Family. We hope that the actions outlined below will afford an additional layer of protection for the entire university community.

Following careful consideration of all the information shared with us, we believe it is best for our collective physical health to indefinitely suspend all MUAA sanctioned meetings, events and activities until further notice. This includes all alumni chapter activities and events through the end of April. Decisions as to when events and activities may resume will be made in the weeks ahead as additional information is made available. We want to be sensitive to those among us who are the most medically vulnerable, realizing that this virus could be passed from individuals who are asymptomatic. We are not responding in this manner with an alarmist spirit, rather we remain optimistic that we will be able to resume normal operations very soon.

The MU Office of Alumni Relations is operating remotely in our efforts to support the level of appropriate response as recommended by the CDC, state government and our local health officials. We are always available via email at alumni@marshall.edu. Additional information is available at www.HerdAlum.com and on our social media channels.

We urge everyone to exercise due caution and follow the recommendations from the CDC and local health departments and government officials. For the latest developments and pertinent information, please visit www.cdc.gov. We will share additional information via email and social media in the days and weeks ahead.

Be safe, be well and GO HERD!!
